Contractors and suppliers engaged during the Pacific Games will all be paid.

Chair of the National Hosting Authority, Dr Jimmie Rodgers, reaffirmed this today after team leaders of the volunteer groups that helped delivered the games received their payments.

Social media speculations this week featured certain team leaders raising complaints about the payments they were promised before the games.

Rodgers said all team leaders were paid today according to schedule.

“The Government is committed to ensuring there are no outstanding bills to the Games contractors, including goods and service providers,” Rodgers said.

“Let me assure our contractors that your bills are being processed for payment since our commitment is to ensure no one is left behind,” he added.

Rodgers thanked those involved for their patience and understanding, assuring them that the processing of payments is ongoing.

Solomon Islands pulled off a successful Pacific Games that attracted 24 Pacific island nations and territories to Honiara for the two-week event – November 19 to December 2.

More than 5,000 athletes and officials attended the games.

Solomon Islands won 80 medals—12 golds, 37 silvers and 31 bronze – the highest the country has achieved in any Pacific Games.

New Caledonia again topped the medal tally – scooping 87 golds, 57 silvers and 58 bronze.

Tahiti will host the next Pacific Games in 2027.
