Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele conveyed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Solomon Islands Government to Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), after a successful bilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi this week.
In a media statement from the Prime Minister’s Press Secretariat, stated Manele expressed gratitude on behalf of SIG for the ADFD’s vital contribution to the Tina Hydro Project, a landmark initiative and the country’s first large-scale renewable energy project.
Another important initiative discussed was the follow-up on the Solomon Islands’ proposal for ADFD support for the Bina Harbour Project.
The ‘Bina Harbour Business Case’ was formally handed over to ADFD for further consideration.
In addition, the dialogue covered funding for the Dala-Atori Road Project, an important infrastructure development in the Malaita Province.
Manele also took the opportunity to express the country’s keenness to explore various investment opportunities in tourism and other sectors to strengthen future cooperation and partnerships.
