PRIME Minister Manasseh Sogavare has appointed his new chief of staff.

Mcfaddean  Aoraunisaka, 37, replaces Robson Djokovic, who died in May this year at the National Referral Hospital in Honiara of heart failure.

Prior to his appointment, Aoraunisaka, who holds a masters degree in International Affairs and Strategy from Tamkang University in Taiwan, was director of Cabinet Sub-Committee for the Pacific Games inside the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

In his new role, Aoraunisaka will be responsible for the Policy Unit in the Prime Minister’s Office, ensuring the Government policies are implemented.

“I’ve got big shoes to fill,” Aoraunisaka said of his new appointment.

“The challenge for me in this role would be to fill the gap left behind by the late Djokovic,” he added.

“But I am optimistic that I will deliver to the best of my ability.”

Special Secretary to Prime Minister Albert Kabui said Aoraunisaka got his new appointment after all legal formalities were met early this month.

Aoraunisaka comes from Marau in East Guadalcanal and Shortlands in Western Province.
