The Australian government has provided critical ICT equipment to support the operations of the Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission (SILRC) in fulfilling its mandate.
The Equipment was officially delivered by the Australian High Commission Officials with eight new computers as part of the Solomon Islands Australia Partnership for Justice.
Australia’s program extends its support to various agencies within the justice sector, aiding the Solomon Islands Government in its efforts to enhance national security, law enforcement, and order in the country. This includes bolstering national laws and regulations, as well as supporting the work of the Law Reform Commission.
Chairman of SILRC Philip Kanairara acknowledged the Government of Australia and the Australia Solomon Islands Partnership for Justice Program for their assistance in providing the new equipment. He emphasized that these computers will significantly contribute to fulfilling their mandate and improving operational efficiency.
Nicole Smith, Governance Counsellor at the Australian High Commission, stressed the importance of a robust justice system in fostering stability and development in the Solomon Islands.
She reaffirmed Australia’s commitment as the leading partner in the justice sector as well as ensuring accessibility to laws for all citizens and aligning them with the evolving needs of the Solomon Islands populace.
