Australia’s Governor-General David Hurley and his wife Linda will visit Solomon Islands from November 19 – 21 November to attend the Pacific Games.

Sir David will be supporting the largest ever Australian team at a Pacific Games, celebrating the shared love of sport that unites the Pacific family and our long-standing partnership with Solomon Islands.

While in Solomon Islands and attending the Games, Sir David will also:

  • meet with the Acting Governor General of Solomon Islands Patterson Oti and Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare
  • attend the opening of Solomon Islands Meteorological Services Building, which was funded by Australia to support disaster preparedness and response capability
  • visit the National Referral Hospital and meet staff, including Australians clinicians, working to improve health outcomes
  • meet with the community and the people that underpin our nations’ relationship.

Margaret Beazley, Governor of New South Wales, will serve as Administrator of the Government of the Commonwealth of Australia during the visit.
