Solomon Islands soccer international Rovu Boyers played a key role for West Adelaide in a 7-1 thrashing of Cove FC in round seven of the South Australia (SA) Football State League One on ANZAC Day.
Boyers scored one goal and assisted with three of the seven goals for the Hellas on Friday 25th April 2025.
He scored West Adelaide’s fourth goal on the stroke of halftime when he curled the ball past Cove FC keeper Ryan Veitch’s left side corner. Boyers orchestrated the move when he fed Yuya Kato who dribbled forward before squaring it back to the Solomon Islander just outside the box. Boyers then hit the ball with his right foot which flew past the Cove FC gate and into the net.
Boyers also assisted with the Hella’s second, fifth and sixth goals before he was substituted along with hat trick scorer Kato in the 86th minute.

Cove FC managed to pull one goal back in the 84th minute but West Adelaide added its seventh in the 90th minutes through Peter Katsambi to complete its 7-1 goal galore.
In another SA State League One round seven match on Saturday, Micah Lea’alafa played the whole game for his Vipers FC side against face Pontian Eagles which ended in a 1-all draw.
Another Solomon Islander Junior David also played the whole 90 minutes for Croydon FC in the SA National Premier League (NPL) level on ANZAC Day, but his side succumbed to a 1-2 defeat to Adelaide City.
Two other Solomon Islanders based in Adelaide Javin Wae for Campbelltown City FC in the SA NPL and William Komasi in the SA State League One did not feature for their respective clubs in the round seven matches on Saturday.

Meanwhile in the New South Wales (NSW) NPL round 12 competition, Raphael Le’ai was featured in the Wollongong Wolves 2-1 win over Mt Druitt Town Rangers on Sunday 27th April. He made a triumphant entry following his suspension in round 11 after picking up a red card in round 10 of the NSW NPL against Sutherland Shark on Sunday 13th April.
