Solomon Islands rising football star Rovu Boyers has increased his goal tally to six and becomes the second highest goal scorer for his West Adelaide club in the State League One of the Football South Australia (FSA).
The young lad’s goal made the difference for the Hellas in a 2-1 round 10 fixture win against Adelaide Olympic last Saturday, to maintain his club’s third position on the competition’s table.
Adelaide Olympic scored a late goal in the 87 th minute but was not enough to stop West Adelaide from adding another three points to their tally.
Boyers scored in the 80th minute when he passed the ball forward to Jun Ota on the right, who dribbled forward, went passed two defenders before squaring it into the box. Yuya Kato received the ball and laid it back to the Solomon Islander, who scored from his right foot.
Boyers now has six goals to his name making him the second highest goal scorer for his club behind teammate Kato who added his seventh goal when he scored the first goal last Saturday.

In the FSA National Premier League (NPL), Javin Wae and his Campbelltown side nets a victory against Adelaide Croatia Raiders by defeating them 2-1 last Friday. The win helped them remain fifth on the table and tied on points with fourth place Playford United. Despite picking up a yellow card as caution in the match, Wae barricaded the Campbelltown defence wall against the Raiders.

In another FSA NPL, Solomon Islander Junior David and his Croydon FC dropped against first place Metro Stars United on Saturday. David came in at the 76 th minute, 10 minutes after Stars scored and that goal remained until the final whistle with the final score being 1-0.
Croydon lost their previous sixth place spot and now sit in seventh.
Solomon Islands defender William Komasi played the whole match for Adelaide Cobras against Salisbury United in another round 10 FSA State League One game on Saturday. Unfortunately, Cobras were outplayed by Salisbury as Komasi’s side lost 2-0. They remain ninth on the table with 10 points.
Just a point behind Cobras is Micah Lea’alafa’s Vipers at 10th on the table with nine points. A win was needed for Vipers to overtake Cobras and move up the table, but a 0-0 draw against Cumberland United on Saturday denied this. Lea’alafa featured the whole 90 minutes for Vipers, but the score remained the same as it was at the first whistle.
Meanwhile, Raphael Le’ai played the whole match for his Wollongong Wolves side in a 0-1 defeat to Blacktown City in the New South Wales (NSW) NPL on Saturday.
Le’ai who is based in Wollongong and Adelaide-based soccer players in Wae, David, Komasi, Lea’alafa and Boyers are able to play club football in Australia through funding support from the Australia High Commission in Honiara in partnership with the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
