Youth leaders from the Central Guadalcanal Constituency have acknowledged Gold Ridge Mining Limited (GRML) as their gold sponsor and major contributor to the upcoming Central Guadalcanal Communities for Sustainability: Eco-Tourism and Green Development Fair, set to run from September 9 to 12 in Honiara.
The Fair, organized by the Central Guadalcanal Youth Association Committee, aims to harness individual and communal potential and provide a platform for youths to learn, engage, and lead within their communities.
Organizers say the four-day program will spotlight local culture, natural resources, productive sectors, and community-driven innovation, reinforcing youth development and social resilience.

He said the initiative offers an opportunity for local youths to address social challenges facing young people in the constituency.
In a letter to the Central Guadalcanal Youth Association committee, GRML commended the initiative as timely and important, adding that the activities align with the company’s values and commitment to the communities where it operates.
The GRML letter expressed pleasure that the project aligns with its corporate responsibility goals and community engagement strategies.
Sponsors emphasized the potential for sustained partnerships that support youth leadership, education, and social cohesion in Central Guadalcanal.
The fair will showcase Central Guadalcanal’s cultural heritage, natural resources, and local innovations, highlighting the area’s contribution to the broader Solomon Islands economy.
The Central Guadalcanal Communities for Sustainability Fair’s theme is, ‘A youth -centered initiative fostering cultural and entrepreneurship d hnm, vc awareness, market access and local eco-solutions.’
