The Solomon Islands Rugby Union Federation (SIRUF) this week received a generous donation of
50 Rugby balls from GeoGas Solomon Limited, to support the upcoming High School Girls 7s
Competition in Honiara.
The donation was officially handed over to SIRUF Honiara Development Officer, Ms Sarah
Buka, who received the support on behalf of participating schools, witnessed by school representatives.
The timely contribution comes as schools in Honiara prepare for the competition, scheduled
for 24th–25th September 2025.
The Rugby balls will be distributed among the participating schools, providing much-needed resources for training sessions in the lead-up to game day.
Ms Buka, thanked GeoGas Solomon Ltd for their support.
“This donation will really help the girls in the coming days as they prepare for the competition,
and also continue to support them even after the competition ends.”
GeoGas Solomon Ltd Sales and Marketing Team Leader, Mr Chris Tony, also shared his
remarks.
“We are happy to support this initiative as it is part of our company’s commitment to giving back to the community.”
The High School Girls 7s Competition will feature schools in Honiara and is part of SIRUF’s
ongoing efforts to develop Rugby in the Solomon Islands, with a strong focus on
promoting women’s participation and development at the grassroots level.
