Improvements to Noro Roads in Western Province have made substantial progress in recent months, with the physical progress reached 30 percent.
This critical investment, funded by the World Bank and implemented by the Solomon Islands Government through the Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) under the Second Solomon Islands Roads and Aviation Project (SIRAP2), is set to enhance the climate resilience and safety of key transportation links for the region.
The works are being undertaken by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, with all activities closely monitored under the professional supervision of Egis Asia Company Limited.

“By improving the quality and safety of these roads, we are creating smoother access to markets, schools, and essential services,” he added.
“These upgrades will also support local businesses and industries, particularly the fisheries sector, by enhancing transportation links for goods and services.”
The ongoing improvements to Noro Roads are a testament to the Solomon Islands Government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and promoting sustainable economic growth.
