
Prime Minister Jeremiah Manele has joined the Leader of Opposition, Matthew Wale in congratulating the Solomon Islands Kurukuru following their victory in the OFC Futsal Men’s Cup at Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji.
From New York, Prime Minister Manele praised the team.
“On behalf of the Government of National Unity (GNUT), I congratulate our Kurukuru for this remarkable achievement.
“Winning this year’s championship marks the seventh time Solomon Islands have been crowned OFC Futsal Men’s Cup champions.”
The Prime Minister also acknowledged the Tuvalu team, who returned to the competition after 14 years.
“We congratulate Tuvalu for their impressive effort and sportsmanship, which should be an inspiration to their island nation and other pacific island nations .”
Reflecting on Kurukuru’s success, Prime Minister Manele highlighted the guidance of Coach Dickson Kadau and the support of all those who contribute to futsal in the country.
He encouraged young Solomon Islanders to draw inspiration from the Kurukuru team, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and perseverance as values that continue to drive excellence in sports and beyond.
