Rewa Football Club Captain, Setareki Hughes has expressed full confidence and trust in his squad, particularly in their Solomon Islands striker, John Orobulu as they ready to kick off their campaign at the OFC Men’s Champions League 2025 today.

They will open their campaign against AS Tiga Sport of New Caledonia, at the Lawson Tama Stadium, 12pm this afternoon.

Speaking to In-depth Solomons, Hughes believes Orobulu’s presence will be a significant advantage for the Fijian club.

“It’s good to have John in the team, especially when playing here in his home ground and in front of the home crowd. I know that he will deliver in this campaign,” Hughes said in an exclusive interview.

Orobulu, a national team player and prolific goal-scorer, has been a key asset for Rewa FC, contributing immensely in previous seasons. His inclusion in the squad once again is expected to boost the team’s attack as they face some of the toughest clubs in the region.

“His inclusion in the team has helped us, in the last season and this year again. So yes, it’s a great honor for us to have him in the team,” Hughes added.

With Honiara set to host the prestigious regional tournament, the Rewa FC captain is calling on local fans to rally behind their countryman and the team.

“My main message to our fans in Honiara is please do come out in numbers and support your countryman, John, and Rewa FC. Your support in the field will be a major boost for the team, and we’re looking forward to seeing all of you on each game day.”

Rewa FC is determined to make a strong impression in this year’s competition.
