In Adelaide
Round 13 of Football South Australia (FSA) National Premier League (NPL) and State League One continues this Saturday in Adelaide where five of our national soccer players are currently playing with their respective clubs.
In the South Australia NPL, Junior David’s club Croydon Kings will take on Modbury Jets 2.30pm Adelaide Time. David came off the bench to play on the left wing back position for Croydon last weekend, in a 3-1 win against Playford City.
Another South Australia NPL match on Saturday afternoon will see Javin Wae’s club Campbelltown City take on WT Birkalla. Javin played the first half for Campbelltown last weekend and was replaced at the start of the second half in a 4-0 defeat against table leaders Metro Stars.
In the South Australia NPL Table after Round 12 last weekend, Campbelltown is in fifth place with 19 points, and Croydon is in sixth position with 18 points. Metro Stars are in first place with 29 points. Bottom of the ladder in 12th position is Adelaide Croatia Raiders with nine points.
In the State League One, William Komasi’s club Ade-laide Cobras will take on Fulham United, also on Saturday afternoon. Komasi is nursing an injury and did not appear for the Cobras in the last couple of weekends.
Micah Lea’alafa and his club Vipers FC, will face Adelaide Blue Eagles, 3pm Adelaide Time, also happening on Saturday.
Another Round 13 match on Saturday evening will see Solomon Islander, Rovu Boyers and his club West Adelaide, taking on Pontian Eagles 5pm Adelaide Time.
In the State League One Table after Round 12 matches last weekend, West Adelaide is in third place with 23 points, Adelaide Cobras eighth with 14 points and Vipers in 10th place with 12 points.
There are 12 clubs competing in the South Australia State League One, with Sturt Lions in first place with 30 points, and Pontian Eagles in 12th place with only five points.
In the New South Wales (NSW) NPL, another Solomon Islander Raphael Leai is currently playing for the Wollongong Wolves.
The NSW NPL enters Round 18 this weekend, with the Wolves taking on Sydney Olympic FC this Saturday.
Leai’s club had recorded just one win from their last five matches and are on a three game-run without tasting victory. So Leai and his teammates will be looking for a win against Sydney Olympics on Saturday.
There are 16 clubs in the New South Wales NPL with Wollongong Wolves currently in ninth place and Sydney Olympics in 11th position. Marconi Stallions is currently leading with 42 points and Central Coast Mariners in 16th place with just six points. This is the Central Coast Mariners male reserve team participating in the New South Wales NPL, and not the senior team which is currently participating in the A-League.
The Solomon Islands soccer players, Javin Wae, Junior David, Rovu Boyers, Micah Lea’alafa, and William Komasi in Adelaide, plus Raphael Leai in New South Wales, are able to play club football in Australia, through a funding support from the Australia High Commission in Honiara, in partnership with the Solomon Islands Football Federation.
