Australia is strengthening digital learning in Solomon Islands, with 300 laptops installed in 20 secondary schools across Malaita, Western and Temotu Provinces.
The initiative is delivered through the LiteHaus International Digital Infrastructure Program and supported by Australia through the Solomon Islands–Australia Partnership: Stronger Education Together program. It aims to improve access to quality education, support teachers, and equip students with the digital skills needed for modern learning and future employment.

The laptops provide students and teachers with reliable access to digital learning tools, enabling schools to integrate technology into everyday classroom teaching. This will support more engaging, interactive and effective learning, while expanding opportunities for students in remote and underserved communities.
To ensure the technology delivers lasting impact, the program has also provided digital training for 74 teachers, focusing on practical classroom applications. Training includes incorporating digital literacy and cyber safety into lessons, empowering teachers to use technology confidently and responsibly to improve learning outcomes.
This initiative builds on earlier education investments, including previous laptop installations in school computer laboratories and targeted support for students with visual impairments, reinforcing Australia’s commitment to inclusive and accessible education.

LiteHaus International is one of three NGO partners working with Australia in the education sector in Solomon Islands. Through this work, LiteHaus is contributing to long-term education outcomes, increased access to digital learning, and strengthened institutional capacity within the Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development.
Australia’s support reflects its ongoing partnership with Solomon Islands to foster innovation, inclusion and quality education, ensuring students and teachers are better equipped for the digital age and the opportunities it brings.
