The China Medical Team (CMT) has provided free medical checks and medicines to officers of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) at the Rove Police Headquarters in Honiara.
The medical outreach was conducted on 28 August 2026, with CMT health professionals screening RSIPF officers for conditions including high blood pressure, high blood sugar, chronic illnesses and other common health problems.
Officers who required treatment were also provided with medicines free of charge.
The CMT has provided free healthcare services in Solomon Islands since 2022 through medical outreach programmes conducted across the provinces.
The team also works alongside local health professionals at the National Referral Hospital in Honiara.
Acting RSIPF Commissioner James Aitorea thanked the China Police Liaison Team (CPLT) for arranging the medical outreach for police officers and their families.
“The health of our officers and their families is very important. A healthy workforce contributes to better performance, while healthy families provide strong support for our officers at home,” Aitorea said.
He said the initiative would not only improve the health and wellbeing of police officers but also demonstrate support for them and their families.
Aitorea said prioritising the health of RSIPF personnel was an important part of maintaining an effective and resilient police force.
He also welcomed the continued cooperation between the RSIPF and Chinese partners, saying investment in the health and wellbeing of officers and their families was an important part of strengthening the force.
