From the shores of Malaita to the basketball courts of Fiji, Godfrey Toramo’s journey began in 2013 — one that would shape him into a powerful presence under the ring and a leader on the court.
Playing as a Power Forward/Center for the National Team, Godfrey isn’t just focused on rebounds and defense — he’s driven by something deeper: team unity.
“Every team needs people who are willing to put the team first,” he says.
“Sometimes that means being vocal on the bench, helping with drills, or encouraging your brothers when things get tough.”
Godfrey’s impact stretches far beyond his on-court performance. He is steady and influential, guides the team, and helps his teammates stay confident, focused, and resilient through every challenge that comes their way.
He turns communication into a strength, supporting teammates through mistakes and reminding everyone that trust is the foundation of success.
Off the court, he makes it his mission to keep spirits high and connections strong. Whether it’s a laugh shared during downtime or a word of encouragement before tip-off, Godfrey believes that chemistry builds champions.

Always eager to grow, analyzes basketball games — watching, learning, and analyzing strategies from some of the world’s best. His advice to young people?
“Stay curious. Stay humble. And remember, relationships matter just as much as skills.”
For the Melanesian Cup, his goal is clear and powerful — to compete at the highest level, represent the Solomon Islands with pride, and bring home the win.
Off the court, Godfrey continues to pursue his work with the same passion he brings to basketball — constantly learning, leading, and finding ways to bring discipline into everything he does.
A true team-first player, Godfrey Toramo reminds us that leadership isn’t just about talking — it’s about showing up, lifting others, and building something bigger than yourself. – Solomon Islands Basketball Federation
