The Solomon Islands Government has issued a travel advisory urging citizens to avoid travel to the Middle East due to heightened tensions and ongoing conflict in the region.
In a public notice released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade, all Solomon Islanders intending to travel internationally have been strongly advised not to travel to the Middle East until further notice.
The advisory comes amid escalating instability in the region, prompting concerns over the safety and security of citizens abroad.
The Ministry specifically addressed Solomon Islanders currently residing in Gulf countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, as well as Israel. Citizens living in these countries are urged to take all necessary precautions, remain calm, and strictly follow the instructions and guidance issued by their respective host governments.
The Government also encouraged nationals to stay informed by seeking reliable and up-to-date information as events continue to unfold.
The Solomon Islands Embassy in the United Arab Emirates is actively monitoring the situation and working to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Solomon Islands citizens in the affected region.
The Ministry concluded its advisory by urging all nationals to take care and prioritise their safety during this period of uncertainty.
