Solomons Government Announces Reappointment of Two Permanent Secretaries

The Solomon Islands Government has officially reappointed two Permanent Secretaries (PSs) to lead key ministries, reaffirming their roles in the nation’s public administration.

Governor General Sir David Tiva Kapu presided over the swearing-in ceremony at Government House in Honiara, where Mr. Riley Mesepitu and Mrs. Karen Galokale took their oaths of office.

Mr. Mesepitu was reappointed as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Labour and Immigration, a position he has held for eight years.

Mrs. Galokale was also reappointed as Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Police, National Security and Correctional Services, where she has served with distinction for the same duration.

Sir David commended both officials for their continued service and reminded them of their crucial responsibility in supporting government policies and national priorities.

In response, Mr. Mesepitu and Mrs. Galokale expressed their gratitude for the renewed confidence and pledged to serve the government and people of Solomon Islands with dedication and integrity.
