Manele said strong partnerships such as RAPPP complement Solomon Islands Government leadership in modernising the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF).

“This is about opening a new chapter of safety, confidence and opportunity for the people of Noro and Western Province,” Manele said.

He also highlighted the national significance of the facility and the benefits it will bring to local communities.

The new police station is expected to improve public safety and community confidence, providing a stronger presence for law enforcement that directly supports families, businesses, and local residents.

Noro is one of the country’s key economic hubs—home to SolTuna Limited, an international port, and important fisheries and tourism industries.

Strengthening security in Noro supports not only community wellbeing but also economic growth and investor confidence.

Prime Minister Manele also acknowledged the dedication of RSIPF officers serving in Noro and across Western Province, urging them to uphold professionalism and integrity in their duties.

“This is your station. Serve with fairness. Serve with courage. Serve with a heart,” Manele reminded officers serving there.

He thanked the Government of Australia, the AFP, the RAPPP team, provincial authorities, traditional leaders, and community members for their collaboration, noting that effective policing requires shared responsibility between government, police, and communities.

The new Noro Police Station aligns with the Government of National Unity and Transformation’s (GNUT) policy pillars of Infrastructure Development and Unity and Stability, and supports the National Development Strategy objectives of effective governance, public order, and community confidence.

By investing in modern policing infrastructure, the Government aims to build safer communities, enhance investor confidence, and drive provincial development across the nation.
