PM Wale Congratulates PNG on 51st Independence

Prime Minister Hon. Matthew Wale has extended warm congratulations and best wishes to the Government and people of Papua New Guinea as they celebrate their 51st Independence Anniversary.

In a congratulatory message to PNG Prime Minister Hon. James Marape, Prime Minister Wale expressed sincere well wishes on behalf of the Government and people of Solomon Islands on achieving this historic milestone.

Prime Minister Wale highlighted the longstanding bonds of friendship, kinship, and solidarity that unite both countries, noting their shared Melanesian identity and common regional aspirations. He emphasized that these deep-rooted connections continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation and advance the mutual interests of both nations and the broader Pacific region.

“As you celebrate this national milestone, I wish you continued wisdom and success in leading your country, and I wish the people of Papua New Guinea peace, prosperity, and progress,” Prime Minister Wale stated.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed Solomon Islands’ commitment to maintaining its strong, collaborative relationship with Papua New Guinea moving forward.
